WILLIAM HENRY GREEN, JR.
March 22, 1924 ~ June 9, 2014

consistent cheerfulness and easy going nature."
William Henry Green, Jr., born March 22, 1924 in Cle Elum, WA to Carrie M. and William H. Green, Sr. and passed away peacefully in Vancouver, WA on June 9th, 2014, surrounded by his three daughters. At age ten, the family moved to Ridgefield, WA.
After school in 1940, William joined the CCC, working in the Goldendale, WA area. Later he worked for Bill Cassidy at the Meat Locker Plant in Vancouver, WA as an apprentice butcher.
William met the love of his life, Anne, in 1941, and married her in San Diego shortly after he had enlisted in the U.S. Navy and later sailed for the Philippines, returning home in 1945.
In 1950, he started his own business "Bill Green Wholesale Meats", delivering fresh meat to small Mom & Pop stores throughout Clark County. In 1970, he was fortunate enough to begin over 43 years of retirement!
William and Anne were charter members of Vancouver 4 Wheeler Club (Jeep #2) as well as being an avid hunter and fisherman.
William is survived by his sister, Barbara Goodwin; daughters, Pat Brown of Ocean Park, WA, Michelle Johnson of Battle Ground, WA and Nancy Lee of Goldendale, WA, and their families; ten grandchildren; 20 great-children; and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anne; son, William III; and eight brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Sat., June 14, 2014 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Everyone is asked to meet at the Chapel prior to the service.
