
JANE C. LEONARD
June 22, 1957 - May 8, 2014
Jane C. Leonard, Clark County's longtime graphic designer, died last Thursday of cancer. She was 56.
Jane's unerring eye for good design, creativity and high standards elevated the quality of every project she touched.
She applied artistry to all she did, producing pieces for nearly every county department and in every shape and size. During her 22-1/2 years with Clark County, Jane was recognized for exceptional work and extraordinary efforts to save taxpayer dollars. She won numerous awards from the National Association of County Information Officers and the City-County Communications and Marketing Association.
Jane gave generously of her time and talent to the Clark County Historical Museum, where she designed exhibits and program information and promoted events.
Born and reared in England, Jane and her husband, Geoffrey, emigrated to the United States in 1989 and moved to Vancouver, WA in 1991.
Jane is survived by her husband, Geoffrey Fowler; mother, Ann Foreman of Vancouver; step-mother, Lynn of Ottawa, Canada; sisters, Katharine (Alan Shotwell) of Beaverton, OR, Polly of Ottawa; brothers, Nicholas of Ottowa, David of England; niece, Rachel; and nephew, Cameron.
She was preceded in death by her father, Peter.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thurs., May 22, at the Clark County Historical Museum, 1511 Main St., Vancouver, WA.
