September 15, 1941 ~ April 30, 2014

Ted was raised in Troy, New York where he attended LaSalle Institute and earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. After serving in the Michigan Air National Guard he began a career in the Diesel engine business as service manager and engine failure analyst. Several moves brought him and his family to Vancouver in 1979 where he remained until his death.
Ted was an avid boater. On weekends he and his family could be found cruising the Columbia River aboard the Sea Rascal. He was a past commodore of the NW Sea Ray Boat Club and later a board member of Portland Yacht Club. He loved classic cars, tinkering in the garage, and he could fix anything. Gregarious by nature, Ted loved meeting new people and always sought out opportunities to lend a helping hand where needed.
Ted is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth "Betsy"; son, Cory; daughter, Tracy Franz; grandson, Conan.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 7th at 3p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 1101 NE 112th Ave., Vancouver.
Donations/contributions may be made to Northwest Parkinson's Foundation.
