ALVIN V. STAFF
March 9, 1923 ~ April 17, 2014
Alvin V. Staff, 91, passed away April 17, 2014 due to age related conditions in Olympia, WA. He was born the son of Theodore and Ida Staff on March 9, 1923 in Hoquiam, WA. His family moved to St. Helens, OR when he was a young child, later graduating from St. Helens High School.
Alvin worked for Boeing and Lockheed aircraft companies until WWII started. He became a pilot, flying the B-17's and B-29's.
After the war, Alvin stayed in the Air Force reserves. He also had a bank management career at U.S. Bank in St. Helens for 32 years. Alvin was called back to active air force duty for Korea conflict and the Cuban crisis.
After retirement, he settled into life in Vancouver, WA.
Alvin is survived by his two sons, Kent Staff (Suzy) of Vancouver, WA and Richard Staff (Kathy) of Olympia, WA; grandson, Richard Jr. (Ella); and great-grandson, Ashton of Lacey, WA.
He was preceded in death by his brother, David Staff of Oregon City, OR.
Alvin will receive a military graveside service and burial at the Fort Vancouver Post Cemetery on Thurs., April 24, 2014 at 2:30 p.m.

Charlotte Lewis
I met Al while working at Courtyard Village. He was a wonderful old man. Charming, intelligent and thoughtful. It was a sad day when he left the Courtyard community. It is a sadder day now that he has left this plane. I will always remember his kindnesses.
