WILFORD "JR" EUGENE ROBERTS
August 23, 1969 ~ December 12, 2016
Wilford "JR" E. Roberts Jr. was born August 23, 1969. He passed away Monday morning December 12, 2016 at the age of 47 after a 3-year battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. He grew up in Clark County attending Battle Ground High School.
JR joined the armed forces as a Reserve Marine from 1987 to 1993. He served in active duty during the Gulf War from 1990 to 1991 as a Sergeant.
Jr worked in the IT industry for 15 years. He was proud of owning his own business called 1st Choice Driving School. He did this while going to Nursing school until he graduated from that program in June of 2013.
JR married Gretchen Gutschow also from Battle Ground, June 30, 1990, celebrating 26 years of marriage this last June.
JR was predeceased by his grandparents, Less and Hester Brohard and Earl and Lila Evans.
He is survived by his wife, Gretchen Roberts of Battle Ground, WA; a daughter and son-in-law, Kayleigh and Aaron Conlin of Vancouver; along with daughters, Melanie and Hannah Roberts, both of Battle Ground. Additionally, he is survived by his father and mother, Gene and Carol Roberts of Salmon Creek, WA; two brothers, Micky Roberts of Eugene and Pat Brady, a sister, Sandy Brady of Salmon Creek; along with numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at noon at Cherry Grove Friends Church.
