WANDA HYLAND
March 17, 1920 ~ December 8, 2014
"Wanda lived a long life and will be remembered
for her witty humor and stoic personality."
Wanda Hyland, passed away on Mon., Dec. 8, 2014 at the age of 94. She was born on March 17, 1920 in Farmington, NM, the only child of Donald and Betsy Ross. During the Depression, her family moved to Vancouver, WA.
Wanda married Herbert Wark and had three children; Dennis Wark, Sheri Talarico and Susan Ignatovich.
After their marriage ended, Wanda was faced with the challenge of supporting her children. She was a hard working woman who worked as a bookkeeper and secretary.
In 1966, she married Wally Holloway, a businessman from St. Helens, OR. Together they started multiple successful businesses. Most significant to the families memory was the Christmas Tree farm they operated in Warren, OR. Wanda and Wally loved to travel with friends in their RV.
When Wally passed away, Wanda was reunited with an old high school friend, whom she later married; Fred Hyland. They had many happy years together.
She was a talented seamstress
and accomplished painter.
Wanda is survived by her two daughters, Sheri and Susan; five grandchildren, David Talarico, Tracey Hendrickson, Paige Ignatovich, Ali Ignatovich and Corey Wark; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Wark.
Gravesite service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thurs., Dec. 18th at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
