Virginia died at home April 12, 2017, in Vancouver, WA. She was born Nov. 25, 1924 on Finn Hill in Brush Prairie, WA to August Hill and Gerda Granlund (later Mattson),
Virginia married Oliver Kivinen, Sept. 8, 1943.
A bookkeeper for many years, she enjoyed singing, dancing, gardening, traveling here and abroad, and celebrating her Finnish heritage.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Daphne; sons, David, Daniel, and Ilmari; one granddaughter, four grandsons, five great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Karen; brother, Irving; and sister, Emma Jean.
Her memorial service will be held 3 p.m., Thurs., April 20, 2017 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., Wed., April 19, 2017 at Layne's Funeral Home in Battle Ground.
