TWILA PEARL PENNEBAKER
March 14, 1933 ~ July 1, 2017
"Twila was a beloved wife, mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother."

Twila Pearl Pennebaker, age 84, died on July 1, 2017. She lived with her husband of 65 years, Winton (Penny), in Longview, WA. Twila was born on March 14, 1933 to Ella Mae Helt and Elmer Zerbe in Sunbury, PA. She grew up in Sunbury, and graduated from Sunbury High School in June 1951.
Twila and Penny were married in Booneville, AR on May 6, 1952. They moved to Portland, OR in the early 1950s, and then to Vancouver, WA, where they lived until Penny's retirement from the railroad in 1993. They traveled extensively after Penny's retirement, visiting family and friends all over the country. They settled in Longview 11 years ago.
Twila loved to read, was an amazing solver of puzzles on Wheel of Fortune, and enjoyed doing all manner of crafts, either long distance with her daughter Judy, or in her craft room with her granddaughters. She loved to play bingo with friends in Longview and Kalama. Twila and Penny loved to eat at Cracker Barrel so much, they would take day trips to Boise, just for that reason.
Twila is survived by her husband; 5 children, Judy Ellis (Steve), Roger (Gerri), Jackie Steiner (Bill), Brian, and Monte (Tracy); 13 grandchildren; and at last count, 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Thelma Ward and Patricia Sechrist.
A funeral service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 1101 NE 112th Ave., Vancouver, WA 98684 on Fri., July 7th, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the home of her daughter, Jackie.
