THOMAS MICHAEL ANDERSON
April 1, 1959 ~ July 10, 2014
Tom "Mike" Anderson, 55, of Ridgefield, WA, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on July 10th, 2014.
Born in Longview, WA to Thomas and Beverly Anderson, he graduated from Mark Morris in 1977, enrolled and graduated from Lower Columbia College. He furthered his education at Portland State University, graduating in 1981 with a bachelors in business administration in accounting and a minor in economics.
Mike married Krista Herren on May 31st, 1980, and together they raised two wonderful children. He was a devoted husband and very proud father.
Mike excelled as a CPA and shareholder with Geffen Mesher & Company in Portland, OR. He thoroughly enjoyed working with his clients on a personal basis, helping them achieve their financial and personal goals.
Mike was also an active member in the community, he most recently served as an Overseer for Grace and Glory Community Church, and as President of the Board for the Humane Society for Southwest Washington.
Mike enjoyed golfing, fly-fishing, garage-saling, and spending time with his friends and family, and until her passing in March of this year, his beloved bulldog, Gracie.
Mike's faith was the most important part of his time here on earth. Among his favorite verses from the Bible was Joshua 24:15, "As for me and my house, we will serve The Lord." Mike will truly be missed by all those who knew him, and his family takes comfort knowing that he is now in his Heavenly Home.
Mike is survived by his wife, Krista Anderson of Ridgefield; his children: Jordan and Natalie Anderson and Kailey and Micah Tillman of Vancouver; his parents, Thomas and Beverly Anderson of Longview; a sister, Cathy (Terry) Gangstad and nieces, Caitlane and Erin of Bellevue.
Mike is predeceased by his brother, Scotty Anderson, on July 5th, 2014.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held at 2 o'clock on Friday, July 18 at Glenwood Community Church (12201 NE 72nd Ave., Vancouver, Washington).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Open House Ministries or The Humane Society for Southwest Washington in Vancouver.

I knew Mike as a very nice Christian teenager in our youth group at First Christian Church in Longview. He married my mom's best friend Pat Herren's daughter Kris, and while I lost track of him I was saddened to hear of his passing. Prayers for Kris and for his children and family. I graduated from Mark Morris HS with Mike in 1977 and always will remember his sense of humor. What a great guy he was. Had a lot of laughs with him at the last reunion and will miss him. My heart goes out to his family he made the world a better place for sure.
