SAMUEL C. BUNN
February 16, 1920 ~ May 14, 2016
Samuel C. Bunn of Vancouver, WA, 96, passed away at the Ray Hickey Hospice House on May 14, 2016. He was born in Aberdeen, WA on Feb. 16, 1920 to Samuel and Polly Bunn. Sam assumed responsibility at an early age, taking care of his mother and five sisters after his father died. He worked a variety of jobs to support them. When his youngest sister graduated from high school, Sam went into the Army, serving in Europe during World War II.
After the war, he started successful businesses, Arlington Plug Company, and later, Pioneer Manufacturing and Kenmar Music Studios.
Sam was a member of the Elks. After retiring, he enjoyed boating and spending his winters in Southern California.
Special thanks to his daughter-in-law, Igaya Bunn who cared for him during the past four years.
Sam is survived by his daughter, Michelle Howell; grandson, Cooper DeLay; and granddaughter, Tiffany Bunn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; two sons, Gregory and Samuel; and three sisters, Elizabeth, Barbara, and JoAnn.
There will be no service. Sam will be laid to rest at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR.
Memorial donations may be sent to Fort Vancouver National Trust.

I knew Sam during his later years when he lived at The Bedford, by himself first and then, later, with Igaya as his caregiver. He was shy, but kind and gentle. A nice, quiet neighbor. I miss him and Igaya and Michelle.
