Ryan Rhodes Obituary

RYAN ANDREW RHODES
March 21, 1990 ~ June 12, 2017

Our amazing boy, Ryan Andrew Rhodes, of Camas, WA, left this world on June 12th, 2017. He was only 27 years old. Ryan was born a 'Little Light-fighter' at Fort Ord, CA on March 21st, 1990. The son of Richard and Karilyn "Nini" Rhodes, he was a constant joy in their lives. Ryan attended Camas schools up until his Senior year where he attended Portland Christian High School. Ryan's first love was basketball; remembered by his neighbors for the constant dribbling and shooting in the driveway late into the night. He excelled at basketball all through his life and ended his career as captain of the 2008 State Champion PCS Royals.
As an adult, Ryan's hobbies included snowboarding, golf and he was an avid weight lifter.
What everyone will remember most
was Ryan's quick smile, friendliness, and
sense of humor, which could affect
even the most dour of individuals.
His personality touched so many; whether it be customers of his fathers paint business, co-workers and customers at Hooligans Sports Bar, teachers, friends or family, Ryan exuded an overall love of people that will be forever missed and mourned by everyone that ever met him or knew him.
Ryan will be sorely missed not just by his parents but family members: former spouse and friend, Chrissy Rynveld-Rhodes; brothers, Stephen Rhodes of Mesa, AZ and Bradley Rhodes of Camas, WA; sisters, Shannon Tremblay of Jaffrey, NH and Alexis Rhodes of Camas, WA; her grandmother, Nellie Larreategui of Camas, WA; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and friends, Krista Campbell, Sarah Gant, and Joseph Pomerville.
A celebration of Ryan's life will be held on Sun., June 25th; 2p.m. at Camas High School Auditorium.
Donations in memory of Ryan may be sent to: Dare to Live Ministry at Living Hope Church, Vancouver, WA.

Memories and Condolences
for Ryan Rhodes

Not sure what to say?

Our hearts grieve with you, Rich, Nini, Brad, Nellie, and Chrissy. Whenever I think of Ryan, it is his lovely smile that comes to mind and his welcoming voice. The loss of him is incomprehensible for us at this point. We will continue to pray for Christ's comfort to each of you as the days pass. There are too many wonderful memories to relate, but the Pomerville family holds dear, especially, those times we shared in Cabo and on the basketball court.
Christ's peace to you, Ryan.

We are so shocked and deeply saddened to read of Ryan's passing. I love the line about him dribbling and shooting in the driveway and that is definitely how we remember him. He was a friendly and polite young kid and when I met him again years later when he came to paint our house, I saw that he had become even more gracious. I will always remember his ready smile and warm and kind demeanor. The world is sharing in your loss and we grieve with you.
