RUTH IRENE (SCHEFSTROM)
SPINELLI POTTER
May 8, 1928 ~ January 24, 2014

Ruth Irene Schefstrom Spinelli Potter, 85, passed away on Jan. 24th in Vancouver, WA. She was born on May 8, 1928 in Aberdeen, WA to August and Eleanor (Olson) Schefstrom. Ruth graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1946, attended Grays Harbor Junior College, and transferred to the University of Washington School of Pharmacy, where she graduated in 1952.
Ruth married Nick Spinelli that year and they moved to Longview, WA. As a pharmacist, she worked at Cowlitz General Hospital, Nick Spinelli's Pharmacy, and Longview Apothecary.
Ruth was preceded in death by Nick in 1964 and later married Joseph Potter, who preceded her in 1999.
She was a member of the Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Pharmaceutical Association and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Ruth is survived by five daughters, Dixie Dorsey, Carol Deaton, Debra Weber, Lia Stokes and Deanna Murphy; four sons, John King, Gary Potter, and Tony and Nick Spinelli; numerous grand and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jared Potter; and a sister, Corinne Harmon.
A funeral service will be held on Sat., Feb. 1st at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Stake Center at 11th and Delaware in Longview. A private interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Cathlamet.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local Hospice.
