PEGGY LOU HORNER CARR
May 22, 1930 ~ February 6, 2016
"Peggy touched the lives of many and was
devoted to her family. She will be dearly missed
but never forgotten."

Peggy Lou Horner was born in Yakima, WA to Blanche and Jack Horner on May 22, 1930. She married John Hester Carr on Oct. 4, 1947 and they became Salvation Army officers in 1962, serving in Northern and Southern California, Hawaii, and Washington state.
Peggy was known for her beautiful soprano voice that graced many events and she was a devout songster and bandsman.
After retiring in 1989, Peggy and John enjoyed camping, travel, and spending time with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Peggy had a special love of reading, photography, and arts and crafts. She attended the Salvation Army Portland Tabernacle Corps.
Peggy is survived by her husband, John; her sons, Richard (Colleen), Ronald (Janet), and Roy (Kathleen); daughter, Robin; 11 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and her daughter, Carol, who passed away at age 17 years.
A Celebration of Life and Promotion to Glory will be held at the Salvation Army Portland Tabernacle, 1712 NE Sandy Blvd. in Portland, OR on Fri., Feb. 12, at 6:00 p.m.
