OPAL LEONE CARLSON RENNER
January 30, 1930 ~ December 31, 2017

Our beloved matriarch, Opal Leone Renner, 87, died peacefully at Echoridge Woods Adult Family Home in La Center, WA, where she had been living for the past 2 months. She was born to Oscar and Rose Carlson of Sioux City, IA. Opal had two older sisters, Eileen and Helen and a twin brother, Oscar and she worked at the local soda fountain in her youth.
Opal married Hubert E. Renner Sr. on Aug. 31st, 1946 and converted to Catholicism at that time. Hubert and Opal lived on farms in Eastern Nebraska where they started their family with the four oldest boys. In December of 1955, they moved to Ridgefield, WA. They lived in rural Ridgefield growing and raising a majority of their own food and attended St. Mary of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Opal was very active in the Altar Society and other church activities. Six more children were born while living in Ridgefield.
Besides working at home, Opal, also worked at times at Duluth and Jollie's Taverns. She had many friends of local farmers, fellow church, and community members.
After Hubert's death in June of 1980, Opal continued to live in Ridgefield until 1992, when she moved to Woodland, WA. She was an active parishioner at St. Phillip Catholic Church and continued her work there with the Altar Society.
Opal will always be remembered as a strong, caring,
warm-hearted woman, who was devoted to, prayed for,
and adored her family. God truly blessed her and all
who knew her. What a blessing to know her last day
on Earth was on the Feast of the Holy Family.
Opal is survived by her 10 children: Hubert E. Renner Jr. "Ed" (Leslie Jollie), Joseph O. and Gina Renner, Robert L. and Peggy Renner, Thomas E. Renner Sr., Gerald W. and Nancy Renner, Paul G. and Connie Renner, James R. and Jamie Renner, Lisa M. and Jeff Ripp, Veronica K. and Matt Hart, John F. and Corrie Renner; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
