MURIEL V. WAMPLER
October 19, 1929 ~ August 4, 2016
"Muriel was a GREAT mom, grandmother,
great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She will be deeply missed by all of us."
Muriel, 86, passed away in Keizer, OR from a massive stroke. She was a 42-year resident of Woodland, WA, and had moved to Oregon in June 2015 to be closer to her family after becoming widowed.
She was born in Cooperstown, ND to Oscar and Clara (Haugen) Gullickson, and in 1943, the family traveled by train to Blaine, WA, where she would meet and marry Wes Wampler. They were married for 68 years.
Muriel was a longtime member of Highland Lutheran Church in Woodland and a volunteer at Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens.
Muriel had a kind and loving heart, always helping
others. She had a great sense of humor,
lots of interests and hobbies, but most of all,
she loved family gatherings.
Muriel is from a large family and was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty Everett and Dorothy Craig; and brothers, George and Gordon Gullickson.
Surviving members are her children, Linda (Harold) Haynes, Bruce (Jane), Brad (Brenda), and Brian (Debbie) Wampler; sisters, Dee Oberst of OH, Hazel Hobart of CA, and Sharon Polson of AZ; and her "little" brother, Ron Gullickson of WA.
There will be a graveside memorial service for her in Ferndale, WA on Oct. 26, 2016.

Muriel meant so much to me, she was my friend and also like a mom. I would often stop to visit coming home from Curves in La Center. She and Wes were so gracious and welcoming. I still think of them every time I come home and see their trailer court. Your mom will always be in my heart. She gave my a picture of her and Wes several years ago n a special frame she found, I will cherish it always.
