MINNIE MCGEE

Minnie McGee, 103, of Vancouver, Washington, formerly of Mexico, Missouri, passed away May 19, 2015 at A Home With Hope in Vancouver.
Graveside services were held, May 24, 2015 at East Lawn Memorial Park in Mexico, MO with Rev. Chris Atkinson officiating.
Minnie was born April 9, 1912 in rural Dallas County, MO, the daughter of John Samuel and Leona Belle (Smallwood) Dawson. On October 24, 1931 in Fresno, CA, she married Sidney Allen McGee. They were married for 65 years when he passed away on October 24, 1996.
Mrs. McGee was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mexico. She was an avid square dancer and belonged to several square dancing clubs. Minnie loved to fish, garden, can vegetables and bake desserts.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth McGee and wife, Linda of Vancouver, WA; two granddaughters, Jennifer Derringer of Brownsburg, IN and Stephanie Chase of Bellingham, WA; five great-grandchildren, Broedy and Ryder Chase of Bellingham, WA, and Jesse, Owen and Amelia Derringer of Brownsburg, IN; and one niece, Shirley Tillotson of Greenwood, MO.
In addition to her husband, Sidney, Minnie was preceded in death by three brothers, Eddie, Nova and John William Dawson; and one sister, Stella Dawson.
