Mildred Marie Weber, 85, of Vancouver, WA, passed away peacefully on Oct. 27, 2012 at the age of 85, while surrounded by family. She was born in Burwell, NE on Aug. 27, 1927.
Mrs. Weber touched countless lives during
her 27 years as a first grade teacher at
St. Joseph Catholic School in Vancouver, WA.
She had the remarkable gift of remembering her students and their families years after they left her classroom.
Mildred was a 1971 graduate of Portland State University, and earned her Master's in Education from the University of Portland in 1975.
After retiring, Mildred enjoyed traveling, reading, china painting, knitting, playing Bunco, watching the Seattle Mariners, and most of all, spending time with her family.
Mildred is survived by daughter, Judy Smith (Devin); son, Bill Weber; daughter, Chris Foster; sister, Margie Madaris; brother, Jack Johns (Darlene); sister, Marilyn Larsen (Bob); grandchildren, Brian Wright (Jen), Megan Tverdy (Mark), Randy Weber and Evan Foster; and great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jade, Mason, Peyton, Jessica, Sydney and Andrew.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vancouver, WA on Mon., Nov. 5th, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., immediately followed by a reception. Mildred will be interred at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR during a private ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic School Tuition Assistance Program.
Mildred's family wishes to send their most sincere gratitude to the staff of Kaiser Sunnyside Hospital in Portland, OR.
