Mary Kay Frederick, 60, passed away suddenly of natural causes on May 4, 2017, at her home in Vancouver, WA, and with her husband beside her. She was born Nov. 1, 1956 in National City, CA to Jack H. and Patricia G. Hilbig.
Mary attended San Diego State University and in only three years, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics and Early Childhood Development 1976.
Shortly afterwards in July 1976, Mary married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Karl B. Frederick. They moved to Texas while he completed training for the USAF and moved to Lompoc, CA and Vandenberg AFB where they started their family. Mary gave birth to two sons, Peter and Kevin Frederick, now living in Oregon and Washington. During their marriage, they lived in CA, CO, Hawaii and WA and traveled to 11 other states.
Mary had a tremendous love of cooking, family, and taking care of others and love of her cats. She dedicated her life to taking care of her family and working for Avon. She spent many a mile and hours strolling the beach with her husband and family, and enjoyed crabbing, clamming and fishing during her lifetime. Mary loved to decorate, host, entertain, and attend the local gardening club with her friends. Mary went all out to make all the holidays special. She loved going with her friends to the local gardening club and providing holiday treats to Karl's places of work all of her life.
Mary had a kind heart and a soft voice and
never spoke ill of another person she met.
She will be greatly missed by all that knew her
and especially her husband Karl.
Mary is survived by her husband of 40 years, Karl B. Frederick; two sons, Peter (Schylar) and Kevin (Samantha) Frederick; grand-daughter, Isabella; brother, John (Laura) Hilbig; aunt, LaNora Cartwright; and numerous loving relatives and friends, that were a large part of her life.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy; parents; in-laws, Donald and Valerie; grandparents; and numerous relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for Mary during her last illness, friends and acquaintances for all of the sweet condolences, beautiful plants, and flowers.
