LOIS V. COATS
July 30, 1928 ~ December 17, 2014
Lois V. Coats, 86 years old, of Vancouver, WA, passed away Dec. 17, 2014. She was born in Chico, CA July 30, 1928 to H.B. and Wanda Merel Hobson.
Lois grew up in Chico, her first school was a two-room, all 8-grades, one teacher school, until transferring into town to finish her education.
She was married to Silas W. Coats, also from Chico, CA on Jan. 3, 1947 and eventually settled in Richmond and then Pinole, CA.
Lois drove school bus for Laidlaw Busing Co. for 21 years, most of her passengers being her delight.
She and her husband moved from California to Vancouver, WA in 1989, attending Glad Tidings Church, where they made many wonderful new friends. Lois served faithfully in the senior fellowship gatherings.
Lois is survived by her husband, Silas W.; son, Donald M.; daughter, Charlene M.; grandson, Austin G. Coats; and her beloved niece, Brenda Schwindt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Mildred Shoemaker and Jean Appel; brother, Bethel Hobson; and her son, Ronald L. Coats.
Graveside service to be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The Celebration of Life to be held Jan. 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Living Word Fellowship, NE 78th St., Vancouver.
