LEWIS EDGAR LARDIE
August 10, 1924 ~ December 28, 2016
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7
Lew Lardie passed peacefully into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 28, 2016. God's love for Lew overflowed into his service of others. He founded "Million Meals for the Poor" at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Fullerton, CA and upon moving to Vancouver, WA continued the ministry at Family of Christ Lutheran Church. More than 12 million meals have been served due to his faith in Jesus Christ, his compassion for the hungry, and his generous heart.
Lew was born and raised in Flint, MI and attended college at the University of Arizona. He and Bobbie were married on July 7, 1956 and raised their family in Fullerton, CA. They moved to Vancouver, WA in 2003 to be closer to family. He worked for Proctor & Gamble for 37 years and was an active member of the Rotary Club - "Service Above Self." His favorite joy was spending time with his family, and hosting an annual reunion in Sunriver, OR.
Lew is survived by his wife Bobbie, his four daughters Susan, Kim, Stacy, and Nancy, and by numerous loving family members, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday January 4, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. at Family of Christ Lutheran Church, 3500 NW 129th St, Vancouver, WA 98685.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Family of Christ Lutheran Church; memo line: Lew Lardie Million Meals.

We will always remember Lew and Bobbie delivering bread to us as visitors of Family of Christ and the warm, wonderful welcome which came with it!! Lew was always a gentle Christian man you just wanted to spend as much time around as possible. He was like a magnet of love. Our Creator has blessed us with you, Lew. Now may you also bless those other Angels you touch as well!!

Very sad to hear of Lew's passing. As an early member of the CCNC Men's Club, Lew began our relationship with the Million Meals program, which later led to our ongoing work at the Clark County Food Bank and our continuing donations to CCFB. He was an inspiration to us all.
