LAVONNE THERESA (HANKEN)
SHANNON CAMP
September 20, 1930 ~ July 14, 2014
LaVonne Camp, 83, passed away in Vancouver, WA after a severe stroke. She was born in Timberlake, SD to Edward and Hildegarde (Cord) Hanken.
LaVonne graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Portland, OR, worked as a secretary for the Boy Scouts of America, and later worked for the Wind River Nursery.
LaVonne was a member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church and North Bonneville Seniors.
After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband Clyde in their motor home. She had a passion for oil painting, gardening, and line dancing. She was devoted to her faith, family, friends, and little dog, Kenny.
LaVonne is survived by brothers, Art and Dave; sisters, Thelma and Cheryl; sons, Barry, Russ, Mike, Patrick; step-daughters, Patt, Susan, Cathy, Debbie; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ray; first husband, Charles D. Shannon; second husband, Clyde P. Camp; and grandson, Scott Moe.
Rosary Vigil will be Fri., July 18th, 7:00 p.m. at Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 725 SW Rock Creek Dr., Stevenson, WA 98648. Funeral Mass will be Sat,, July 19th, 1:30 p.m., followed by reception at the Senior Center, all at same location. Interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens will be on Mon., July 20th, 1:30 p.m. in Vancouver, WA.

I'm writing to you late grandma. I was thinking about you and all the loving memories you've given me since I was a baby. I'm so thankful to you!! Although my Mother's direct influence over me ended when I was 18, the point she did drive home to me in those 18 years is that if you want something in life you have to work for it. There is no free ride. This lesson made me a better man, thank you Mom.
