"Kathy was kind and compassionate, a genuinely
caring person to friends, family and strangers alike."

Kathy was the second eldest of Paul and Ginger McKenzie's seven children and never wavered in her loyalty for her immediate and extended family.

Kathy grew up in Washtucna, Washington and moved to Ridgefield, Washington over 25 years ago. She most recently was a benefits administrator at Columbia United Providers in Vancouver, Washington.

Kathy loved the outdoors and was a marathon runner, kayaker and avid gardener.

She was always smiling and happy and had a positive attitude, even as cancer cut her stay with us too short.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Bryon Bartley; sons, Mathew Kemper, Morgan Kemper, and Tyler Kemper; two grandsons, Landon and Dylan Kemper; five brothers, Paul McKenzie, Jr., John McKenzie, Mike McKenzie, Don McKenzie, and Dean McKenzie; sister, Kelly McKenzie Hall; and her parents, Paul and Ginger McKenzie.

Kathy passed away December 22, 2012 at the Ray Hickey Hospice House in Vancouver, WA, with her husband Bryon at her side.

Her friends are invited to join the family in a celebration of her life, Friday, December 28, at 12:00 noon at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Vancouver. Graveside service will be at Washtucna Pioneer Cemetery on Saturday, December 29th, 2012 at 1:00 p.m..

Donations may be remitted to support the Ray Hickey Hospice House.
