September 1, 1964 ~ September 17, 2013
Karin Beth Holdaway-Lehman, 49, passed from this life into eternal life on September 17, 2013, after a brave, hard fought 2-year battle with breast cancer. Her sunny smile, courageous spirit and strong faith were an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
Karin was born in Auburn, Nebraska and spent her younger years in Petoskey, Michigan. In 1978, she moved to The Dalles, Oregon where she graduated from Wahtonka High School. She attended Mt. Hood Community College where she met and married Chris Holdaway, who later died of lung cancer. Karin moved with their young son Erik to Vancouver and married Charles "Chuck" Lehman. Their twins, Kaylee and Zakery, were born in 1999.
Karin loved children, was nanny for years in Portland, and operated a day care out of her home in Vancouver. She drove school and commercial buses in Oregon and Washington. She especially enjoyed driving for the deaf school in Vancouver and driving at the Winter Olympics in Canada.
Karin loved to read and was active playing tennis, softball, and soccer, plus attending all of her children's sports activities. She enjoyed camping, and especially loved the beach and going to the coast whenever she could. She recently spent her 49th birthday at the coast with her family and granddaughter Fable who adores Karin. Family and church friends recently helped make her wish come true sending all to California to visit Disneyland and Sea World.
Survivors include her husband, Chuck Lehman; son, Erik (Keri) Holdaway; granddaughter, Fable Holdaway; son, Zakery Lehman; daughter, Kaylee Lehman; her parents, Pastor Eugene and Janet Schooler; brothers, Dave (Stacie), Steve, Dan (Lorelei), and Scott (Kristin) Schooler; mother-in-law, Sharon Lehman; father-in-law, Jerry (Beth) Lehman; sister-in-law, Cathy (John) Miller; brother-in-law, Blaine (Jenna) Lehman; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Karin trusted firmly in the saving grace of her Lord Jesus Christ and looked forward to a joyful reunion in heaven with family and friends. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Vancouver.
Funeral services will be held there on Tues., Sep. 24th at 6:00p.m. A celebration of Karin will immediately follow.

Karin,
How saddened we were to get the news. Our loss; heaven's gain. What a blessing we got to reconnect just last Oct. at our mutual God-mother's funeral in Indiana. May God give abundant strength and comfort to all who deeply feel this loss.
Your Michigan God-Mother,
Phyllis, and Rodney

When Karin was around, you could not keep yourself from smiling. Her bubbly personality spilled over throughout the whole area. Karin was also my sons bus driver when he was in kindergarten and she still remembered him when she would come to Grace Lutheran Church with her parents 11 years later. She made it a very fun and entertaining ride to school for my son. Karin you will be missed by everyone that was blessed to know you.Untill we meet again!!!
