"Devoted husband, father and grandfather."

Jules Esztergalyos, 76, passed away in Vancouver, WA on Feb. 19, 2017. He lived the American dream! Leaving Hungary at age 16 during the revolution of 1956, Jules came to Lewiston, ID to start a new life.
A graduate of Washington State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Jules was a pioneer in establishing new technologies for power system relaying and controls for the Pacific Northwest grid. He spent 38 years working at Bonneville Power Administration as a senior relay and controls engineer expert, developing many new patents and technical advanced applications for the US government. He was a world renowned authority on relay systems.
Jules is survived by his wife, Theresa; daughters, Lisa and Maria; 3 cherished grandchildren; and sister, Zsuzsa.
He was a "bon vivant" with a good sense of humor, enjoying fine food, wine, and a good story. A connoisseur of the finer things in life, creative in many disciplines, and an excellent dancer. He will be deeply missed.
Private family service will be held with a Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date.
