JOHN F. CAMP III
September 22, 1942 ~ September 19, 2017

John F. Camp III of Vancouver, WA, passed away Sept. 19, 2017 at the age of 74. He was born in Portland, OR on Sept. 22, 1942. He graduated from Fort Vancouver High School in 1960 and earned a Masters in Business from Washington State University where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity.
After serving in the United States Marine Corps, John began a career in cost accounting and retired from Portland General Electric.
John was known for his pragmatic view on life, a dry sense of humor and a love of golf and golf history. He took many thoughtful actions towards those in need in his own private way. He loved the serenity of his cabin on the lake.
John will be greatly missed by
his family and his many friends.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Julie Dawn McCurdy and Carol Ann McCurdy; brothers, Larry (Julie) and David (Renee); sister, Barbara Kelley; proud grandfather of four grandchildren, Kaleen, Marcella, Jarid and Conar, seven great-grandchildren; and his special friend, Diane Maxon.
He was predeceased by his parents, John F. Camp Jr. and Margaret Camp Behm; and sister, Mary Ellen Camp.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sat., Oct. 21 at the First Presbyterian Church - Doran Hall in Vancouver, WA at 11:00 a.m.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Nature Conservancy or The Bradley Angle House for Women and Children of Portland.
