I was the school nurse at Chief Umtuch when she was diagnosed with cancer; she was such a feisty little trooper. I remember when her mom got her a watch with a timer so she would remember to come to the office to get her medication - precisely at 10 am each school day. I would see her occasionally throughout her school years and the last time I saw her was at her job in Hazel Dell a few years ago. What a bright shining star she was. May you find comfort in your memories of Jera. Nurse Scott

She was a friend to many, and some of us were lucky enough to truly know her. She lived her life on her terms, opting for the outlandish, weird, and offbeat. She was fun and friendly, and I could always count on her, especially in the hard times or for encouragement. She is, and will continue to be, missed in this life.

Families are never prepared for this painful situation. Please know that Jera K-Lynn is safe, loved, and treasured beyond all imagining. This path of grief is very bumpy, so I pray for angels to help you along until you are able to hold Jera K-Lynn in your loving arms again. Sending peace and love to your family.
