JEAN LOUISE (HANSON) SQUIRES
November 8, 1932 ~ March 9, 2017

Jean was born in Brandt, South Dakota on Nov. 8, 1932 and passed away March 9, 2017 in Vancouver, Washington after a year long battle with colon cancer. She was the oldest daughter of 13 siblings of John and Irene Hanson. She lived in South Dakota until she was 7 years old and the family moved to Vancouver, Washington. Vancouver was her home except for a few years where she enjoyed the sunshine and beach in San Diego, California.
After graduating from Vancouver High School in 1950 she went on to work at Northwest Natural Gas where she was crowned Miss Gasco and participated in the parade in Downtown Portland. She married Clealand O. Squires on Nov. 21, 1959 who predeceased her in 2006. Her parents John and Irene and her brothers, Harold "Bud", Ed, Lawrence "Red" predeceased her as well.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Ken) Benson and Julie (Wally) Stephenson; and her grandchildren, Samantha, Riley, Brandy, Kendall and Korrie. She is also survived by one great-grandchild, Dean, and two more unborn great-grandchildren arriving in April. She is also survived by her sisters, Patty, Veronna, Beverly, Judy, Claudia and Vickie; and her brothers, Bob and Doug.
According to her wishes, a service will not be held but a Celebration of Life will be held later this year.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Ray Hickey Hospice House.
