Jason Williams Obituary

JASON TODD WILLIAMS
May 15, 1970 - March 7, 2010
"He was a dearly loved father, son, brother and friend."

Jason Todd Williams was born to Edith "Dee" and Hubert "Willie" Williams in Portland, OR on May 15, 1970. He passed away surrounded by family and friends on March 7, 2010 from injuries sustained in a tree-falling accident. He grew up in Vancouver, WA and attended Evergreen High School.
Jason was a jack of all trades who could handle just about any construction job he took on. He formerly worked in demolition, with his most recent position in concrete construction with Allegiance Corporation.
Jason was also a gifted musician on the bass guitar and other instruments, and played in many bands over the years. In Feb. 2003 his band Trip was the opening band for Great White at The Station club in West Warwick, Rhode Island when the historic fire broke out, killing 100 people. Jason's most recent bands included Freak Mutha, and Restruct which had recently recorded a CD and was preparing to perform in Texas. His passion for music resulted in many strong friendships that sustained him through his life's journey.
Jason was deeply loved, as evidenced by the many friends who were at his side during the last two weeks of his life. The family extends our deep gratitude for your outpouring of support.
Jason's greatest legacy will be his cherished children: daughters, Lacey (Matt) Foreman and Chelbe (Joshua) Libby; and son, Skyler Williams. He is also survived by parents, Dee Williams of Ajo, AZ and Willie Williams of Battle Ground, WA; brother, Anthony (Damy) Williams of Ajo, AZ; sister, Cindy Stutesman of Vancouver, WA; newborn granddaughter, Ava Noelle Foreman; Chelbe's unborn son, Caden Micah Libby (due in May); and other extended family.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sun., April 25, 2:00 p.m. at Brush Prairie Baptist Church, 11814 NE 117th Ave., Vancouver, WA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jason Williams Donation Fund at any Columbia Credit Union location.

I talked to you only once, but it was enough to know that death's grip has no authority over such a genuine soul. Keep that five string tuned until we gather again.

Jason was such a great person who put others and his community before himself. He had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh. I am so glad to have had the honor of his friendship. His music will live for all of us to enjoy our memories with him. We will never forget our amazing friend Jason Williams.

Though we were not close in the end. Jason, you were in a way a large part of my life. Leading me down my musical path. I would not be were I am today in my musical abilities if it were not for you. You will be greatly missed. Dave Holmes
