JANE ELIZABETH (ALDRICH) BROWN
June 18, 1938 ~ January 2, 2015
Jane Elizabeth Aldrich Brown, 76, entered the presence of our Lord on Fri., Jan. 2, 2015. She was born June 18, 1938, in Portland, OR to Dr. Willard and Doris Coffin Aldrich, the oldest of nine children.
At sixteen years of age, Jane contracted polio. Despite this physical limitation, she was a member of the first graduating class of Hudson's Bay High School (1956). She went on to study at Western Washington University, and graduated from Multnomah University with a Bachelor's Degree.
In 1959, Jane married the late Constantine James "Gus" Franks and together they raised four children in Bellingham, WA - John, Linda, Lisa, and David.
A devoted homemaker, Jane later worked as an editor of children and family books at Multnomah Press. In 1987, she married Dr. Warren Brown and for twenty years served alongside him at Bethel Community Church where he was the pastor.
Jane was an author, speaker, Bible teacher, and a women's prayer facilitator for International Renewal Ministries.
Jane was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Warren Brown; daughters, Linda (Mark) DeYmaz and Lisa (Mark) Averill; son, David Franks; brothers, John (Linda), Tim (Barbra) and Tad (Cindy) Aldrich; sisters, Becky (Bert) Ortman, Annette (Jim) Hazlett, Virginia Klett and Bobbie (Bill) Trenckmann; her six grandchildren, Zack (Lori), Grant, Taylor, Emily, Will and Kate; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Catherine; and Warren's children, Alissa (Chris) Ellis and Matthew Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Doris Aldrich; step-mother, Mildred "Mimi" Aldrich; oldest son, John; and grandchild, Alexandra Grace.
A celebration of her life will be held at Bethel Community Church in Washougal, WA on Jan. 24, at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Ray Hickey Hospice House and/or Bethel Community Church.
Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas was in charge of the arrangements.
