HOWARD HERBERT ENGELHARDT
May 30, 1926 ~ March 14, 2017

Howard, 90, of Vancouver, WA, passed away peacefully in his sleep at 12:09 a.m. March 14th, 2017. He was born in Vancouver, WA May 30th, 1926, the son of Mike and Ernestine Engelhardt, and graduated from the original Vancouver High School.
Howard served in the Army Air Corps and worked on B-29 bombers.
He was married to Anna Collins April 15th, 1950 until her passing in October 2008, 58 years.
Howard was employed at the SP&S Railroad that then became Burlington Northern Railroad and retired as foreman of the diesel shop after 39 1/2 years.
He was a member of the VFW, Minnehaha Grange, and the American Legion. He enjoyed trips to Germany, playing cards, traveling, trains, especially spending time with family and friends.
Howard is survived by his four children, Kathy Arnold, Steven Engelhardt, Ronald Engelhardt, and Molli Engelhardt; and sisters, Nancy Stricker and Edna Vavrosky.
Chapel service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens on Mon., March 20, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. with graveside service at 3:45 p.m., followed by a reception in the hospitality room.
