HAZEL L. (SAMPSON) WILLIAMS
March 6, 1922 ~ November 14, 2012
Hazel L. (Sampson) Williams, 90, passed away at her home in Camas, WA on Nov. 14, 2012. She was born in Vancouver, WA and was raised on a farm on East Mill Plain, in Vancouver, graduating from the old Union High School as valedictorian in the class of 1939.
Hazel attended business college in Vancouver as well as Oregon State University.
She retired from Georgia Pacific (Crown Zellerbach).
Hazel is survived by her son, Steven Williams of Washougal, WA; her daughters, Janet Smith (Stanley) of Camas and Mary Dade of Portland, OR; a daughter-in-law, Mona Williams of Camas, WA; her sister, Alice Higgins of Tacoma, WA; as well as six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. Williams, in 1984; her son, Terry Williams, in 2005; her brother, Herbert Leigh Sampson; and her two sisters, Jean Sampson and Marjorie Heinrich.
Hazel was a long-time member of Camas United Methodist Church where a memorial service is scheduled for Tues., Nov. 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.
