FARAHNAZ TAMIMI-SCHMIDT
May 4, 1968 ~ July 20, 2014
Farahnaz Tamimi-Schmidt was born May 4, 1968 in Rangoon, Burma. She died at the age of 46 on July 20, 2014 after a courageous 7 year battle with breast cancer. Farahnaz was the incredibly proud mother of Avery and Ashton Schmidt. She married Troy Schmidt on May 9, 1992 and they recently celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary. She was also a devoted sister to Dzaleh and loving daughter to Norah and Oscar. She was a fantastic aunt, cousin, niece and friend. Farahnaz graduated from Lakeridge High School and Linfield College. She was a juvenile court services manager at Cowlitz County for 18 years. Farahnaz was a 'superfan' for all of the sporting events her sons participated in over the years. Whether it was football, basketball, or baseball she was at the games, wearing a jersey, and cheering them on!
Farahnaz is survived by her husband, Troy; sons, Avery and Ashton; sister, Dzaleh (Ryan Nosworthy); parents, Oscar and Norah Tamimi; mother and father-in-law, Stan and LaVona Schmidt; sisters-in-law, Jacy Jukkala (Todd) and Crystal Schmidt-Dipaola (Steve); brother-in-law, Bill HIles; nieces, Lauren Oda (Nate), Tenley and Hadley Jukkala; nephews, Michael Schmidt-Dipaola, Evan and Wil HIles; and great-nephew, Ellison Oda. She is also survived by her beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
Farahnaz was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Julie Schmidt-Hiles.
A celebration of life to honor Farahnaz will be held on Sunday, July 27 at 2 p.m. at the Vancouver Hilton, 301 West 6th Street, Vancouver, Washington.
A fund has been set up to support Avery and Ashton's education and living expenses (Schmidt Family Donation Fund) at People's Community Credit Union, 7403 NW Hazel Dell Ave., Vancouver, WA. 98665. Donations can be mailed or dropped off at any People's branch in Vancouver.

My dear classmate and friend from the old times. I'm sad, I'm terribly sad that you're no longer there. Your warmness and your beautiful smile I can not get away from my memory, since I have heard from your dead. you are no longer there and that is not to conceive. I will also never be able to understand how it can happen that such a sweet beautiful person goes so early from us. but you stay where you always were, in the midst of my fondest memories from the youth time. rest in peace my angel.
