EVELYN HARLEY
March 5, 1936 ~ July 13, 2012

Evelyn Harley of Vancouver, WA, passed away at home due to complications from Alzheimer's Disease. She was born in Vancouver, WA to Isabel (Hood) and Laurence Stein 76 years ago. "Evie" attended Vancouver High School and later graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in Education. She went on to teach elementary education in Denver, Texas, Kansas, and Las Vegas.
Evie married William Michael Harley on June 6, 1963; they later divorced. While married, she enjoyed life as an Air Force wife, traveling and living in the Philippines, Australia, and over 10 states, although she always considered Vancouver "home." In 2002, she moved from Las Vegas to Eugene, OR after retiring from teaching to be near her children.
She loved games and sports of all kinds, especially bowling; participating in leagues until her disease prevented it.
Evie will be affectionately remembered for her cheerful disposition, warm smile, laughter, and
generous spirit. Although we miss her terribly,
we know she is now with her Lord and Savior.
Evie is survived by her children, Jeffrey Harley of Eugene, OR and Christine Curtis of Springfield, OR; a sister, Nancy Biggs of Vancouver, WA; two grandchildren; one step- great-grandchild; and many loving relatives.
A graveside service for family and friends will be Fri., July 20, 2012 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens at 10:30 a.m.
Remembrances in Evie's name may be made to the .
