Edgar "Ed" W. Tomlin III, 82, resident of Vancouver, WA since 2008, passed away after a long battle with smoking-related illnesses. He was born in Klamath Falls, OR, where he grew up and attended high school.
Ed served in the Army and took courses at Lewis and Clark and SOC in Ashland before embarking on a long career in radio engineering. He worked in many western states, Mexico, Botswana and Morocco over the years.
Ed loved to tell stories and took a deep interest in his many friends. In his later years, he was a devoted Mason and Shriner. Ed was always curious about the world around him and particularly loved history, travel and genealogy. He was also a font of popular myths from the 1940's and 1950's.
Ed is survived by daughter, Khristina Thiele; son, Edgar Tomlin; step-daughters, Jackie Love and Leslie Waltz; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
