Devi Moquinna Schreiner passed away Feb. 26, 2018 at her home in Cherry Park Apartment. She was born in Vancouver, WA to her Father and Mother Daryl W. Schreiner and Melinda S. Schreiner, (Graham-Deaf) on Feb. 13, 1962.
Devi graduated in 1980 from Columbia River High School. While in CRHS, she went to Europe on an Ambassador program. She also attended Chemeketa CC in Salem, OR.
She worked at Fred Meyers, Hewlitt-Packard, Southwest Washington Center of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, (SWCDHH) also known as Tilikum, and did some interpreting of American Sign Language, (ASL), she was very fluent with ASL.
She volunteered to be a member of the Peace Health Medical Group, Patient and Family Advisory Council, (PFAC) at the Health Education Center. She was very happy with her Patient Experience Specialist at Columbia Network.
She had been so helpful, loving and friendly to many people, deaf and hearing, that needed help. She was also very knowledgeable about many things. Her primary care doctor was very impressed by Devi and was very sad to hear of her passing and thought of her as one of her favorite patient. She had been in a wheel chair for the last 10 years.
Devi has said, "Giving a voice of truth to your past...opens the door to your future."
She also had a small message of herself that she carried with her all the time, "You have a natural grace and great consideration for others."
Devi is survived by her daughter, Carissa Gold; parents, Daryl and Melinda Schreiner; brother, Tyson Schreiner (April); nephews, Derek and Nathan Schreiner; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sat., March 24th, 1:00-4:00p.m. at Southwest Center of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, 301 SE Hearthwood Blvd., Vancouver, WA. Friends and family are welcome.

My heart goes out to her family. Devi was the best friend I ever had and probably ever will. We have know each other since JR High and although we haven't been as close these last years we've stayed in touch best we could. I'm so glad we were able to have a reunion with good friends last year. I have so many memories of all of our good, better and best of times it could fill a book. Including all the misadventures we got into! She was a true friend and was always there for me. She will be truly missed. Love you girl! God Bless until I meet up with you again. Love Tammy

Devi...I always loved spending time with you as a child growing up. It's too bad we got older and lost track of each other. May you be with God and the angels completely healed of all your ailments. Love to my Uncle Daryl, Aunt Melinda, and Tyson and family.
