DEE LORENE (SMITH) WILLESTOFT
November 6, 1928 ˜ October 16, 2020
Dee Lorene (Smith) Willestoft, 91, passed to her heavenly home Oct. 16, 2020, with her two children at her side. She was born Nov. 6, 1928, to Roy Dee Smith and Verla Mae Bobbitt in Camas, WA.
Dee lived in Camas until she married Neil Willestoft Aug. 24, 1945. She lived in numerous locations throughout her life. Dee easily made new friends with each move and kept in touch with old friends throughout her life. Her final move was to Bellingham, WA, in 2004 to be near her daughter, Kathryn.
She was cherished by her children, her sister, sisters-and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, and cousins. Dee was the glue that held the family together.
Dee loved to work in her garden and was an excellent cook. The many meals she lovingly prepared for family and friends and wonderful conversation and fellowship around the table will be remembered forever.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Willestoft, and son, Anthony Willestoft.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Paula J. Yturbide.
A family celebration of her life will be held at a later time. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and condolences at www.whidbeymemorial.com or www.columbian.com/obits.

Rene had wonderful smile and a welcoming nature. She was a very kind person and showed genuine interest to each and every individual. She had a profound effect on the lives of all close to her. She is missed by many and remembered for warm hearted disposition. I feel extremely lucky to have met and known Rene in her later life and will always remember her fondly and with love.

As a young child I remember Aunt Rene like a second Mom. She lived with us for many years and when not living with us we always spent time with her whenever we could. Found memories of sitting on her convertible with my brothers, taking drives to the beach, spending the holiday’s together and especially enjoying her incredible spaghetti and meatballs (I’m very happy she finally gave up the recipe after years of begging for it). I loved taking flowers to her when visiting just to see her beautiful smile and a great big hug. She loved her family and her dogs and her memory will last in me heart forever. Rene made a positive impact in my life and a happy smile goes out to the family and friends who had the privilege to know her. Rest in Peace, Love always, Brad

Rene(Dee) would have appreciated the simplicity of the words written about her. I "see" her as a person that always saw thru the hardships of life for what life was really about. Good food, surrounded by good people making for good times and so many great memories. Thank You- Rene

Rene(Dee) was my very best friend, and became my sister-in-law in 1962, we remained very close for all these years. We lived together for a total of 3 years and had some very wonderful times. She helped me raise my 3 sons during that time and was like a second mother to them and remained that way. I will always remember her as the wonderful person she was to everyone.
