DALE BENDER
December 21, 1931 ~ February 6, 2011
Dale Bender, 79, of Vancouver, WA, passed peacefully in his sleep Feb. 6, 2011. Dale graduated from high school in Powell, WY and worked for Dick Jones Trucking in Thermopolis, WY his entire working career. Time growing up was spent around horses. He loved the rodeo and watching bull riding.
His humor and sometimes questionable jokes were his trademark.
Dale came from the old school-if you make a commitment, stand by it-work hard-and be totally devoted to your family. In addition to his jokes, Dale often misquoted the Bible in an attempt to make his point.
He is survived by his admiring fan club Hi, wife of 59 years, Shirley; daughter Terry Murphy and her husband, Ron Frederiksen; son Doug Bender and his wife, Sherry, and son Ron Bender and his wife, Gina. Dale especially loved his three grandchildren, Max (Jessina) Murphy, Sam (Jessica) Murphy, and Chelsea Dinsmoore. Dale had six step grandchildren, Aaron Frederiksen, Lia Frederiksen, Cedar Lapp, Lee Lapp, Michael Glavin and Christopher Smith. In addition, Dale's nine great-grandchildren brought him special joy in the last chapter of his life. Dale is also survived by his brother Lynn and wife, Maxine; brother Jerry and wife, Lila; sister-in-law, Charlotte (Jack) Bell; and six nieces and nephews.
His parents and identical twin brother, Dave, preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thurs., Feb. 10, 2011 at Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home.

Shirley, May the Lord give you strength during this very sad time in your life.
Ron,
So sorry to hear about your dad. My favorite story to tell of your dad's is the babershop and bad hair cut. You and your family have my Deepest Sympathy.

To Shirley & family. So sorry to hear of Dale's passing. There was no one who had more knowledge of the oilfields in Wyoming and there was no vehicle he couldn't drive. He was a very unique invididual. One that I respected to the very highest degree. I am sure you will miss him so very much. With sincere regards and sympathy, Ruth Goller, Powell, WY

WE HERE AT HAIRCUTS/YANKEE CLIPPER WERE SADDENED TO SEE THAT DALE HAS PASSED. WE ALWAYS ENJOYED HIS VISITS AND HIS JOKES. WE ARE SORRY WE MISSED HIS MISQUOTED BIBLE PASSAGES YOU MENTION. HE DID FILL US IN ON HIS DAYS IN WYOMING AND THAT WAS INTERESTING. HE SEEMED LIKE A FINE MAN.

Dale was a wonderful human being. He always had a joke for us. He especially enjoyed the little ones. Zachary and Brook thought the world of Dale too. May you all find peace in knowing you are blessed with wonderful friends to be by your sides during this time of sadness.
