CLARISSA "CHRIS" (FULMER) WILSON
December 23, 1928 ~ April 21, 2018
Clarissa "Chris" (née Fulmer) Wilson died peacefully in her home on April 21, 2018 in Vancouver, WA. She was 89.
Ms. Wilson was born on December 23, 1928 in New Matamoras, OH to her parents, Irvin and Blanche Worden Fulmer, the youngest of five girls.
She graduated from St. Joseph's School of Nursing, Parkersburg, WV. After working for a couple years, Chris went for her Masters, putting herself through college at Ohio State University and graduating with a double major in Business and English in 1956.
After moving to Florida and living there eight years, she returned to Cincinnati, OH to attend University of Cincinnati School of Anesthesia.
Following graduation, Chris worked at the newly-built Shriner's Children's Burn Hospital while teaching at the U.C. Nurse Anesthesia Program. Moving to Vancouver, WA in 1970, she was employed initially at Emanuel Hospital, ending her career at Kaiser-Permanente System/Bess Kaiser Hospital in 1993.
Ms. Wilson is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Randy Bruner of Vancouver, WA; her grandson and daughter-in-law, Jason and Emma Geddie; her grandson, Christopher Geddie and his special friend, Arianna Suplee; her sister, Chloe Ellen Bernius; her long-time companion, Nina Williams; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three of her sisters, Louise True, Eldene Siedenable and Phyllis Miller.
A memorial will take place on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Crossroads Community Church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ms. Wilson's life.
