CHRIS MAYER
March 6, 1991 ~ February 10, 2018
Chris Mayer died tragically in a motorcycle accident. He will forever be remembered as a kind, loving and devoted father. Chris was born Bernard Douglas Mayer in Petaluma, California to Catherine and Sean Mayer on March 6, 1991. He was preceded in death by his father, Sean Mayer. He was survived by his mother, Catherine Boettcher; step-father, Richard Boettcher; and son, Sean. Chris longed for the father he could not remember and always remained loyal and devoted to his mother. Chris had an inseparable bond with his sister and best friend, Patricia. He cherished being a big brother and mentor to his younger siblings, Kathleen, Zachary, and Joseph.
Chris had style and decorum, enjoying both city and country life. Family was his first priority and he worked hard to keep family traditions alive. One of his proudest accomplishments was becoming a welder. Being driven and achieving his goals was important to him. Chris was charismatic; a happy and and healthy young man. He loved to cook and enjoyed fine dining. Tactile by nature; tinkering with cars, bikes and anything motor or electronic were hobbies. Driving his BMW, off-roading and motorcycle riding provided the adrenaline rush he wanted. He enjoyed travel especially the short trip to San Francisco to visit his adoring grandparents, Skee and Andrita Tostanoski, aunts and uncles, Jeanette (Dave), Nadia (Josh), John (Katie), Anna, cousins and extended family.
After attending Clackamas High School, he met Yuliya "Julie" Chaplygina. Together they joyfully welcomed their greatest blessing, son Sean Bernard Mayer. Although their relationship did not last, Sean always remained the center of Chris' life. He relished in the accomplishments of Sean's stages of development; newborn, infancy and toddler. Chris acted with integrity and was a good friend to many. Chris spent the last year planning a future with girlfriend, Alyssa "Allie" Lisac. They met in high school; it was easy to see that they meant the world to each other. While he will be deeply missed, none will long for him more than his son who is now three years old. Private services were held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Vancouver, Washington. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are welcome to donate to the Chris Mayer Memorial Fund for his son, Sean. Donations can be made to IQ Credit Union #574064.
