CAROLYN H. BEDROSSIAN
April 19, 1926 ~ May 12, 2017
Carolyn H. Bedrossian, 91, of Vancouver, WA, died peacefully on May 12, 2017. The daughter of Charles and Mary Head, Carolyn was born April 19, 1926, in St. Augustine, where she also was raised. After completing high school, Carolyn enrolled in the nursing program at Temple University in Philadelphia. She met her husband, Robert "Bob" Bedrossian in 1947, the year he graduated from Temple University Medical School. She became a Registered Nurse the next year.
Carolyn and Bob were married in 1948 at the Washington Memorial Chapel in Valley Forge. They lived in Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Texas before settling in Vancouver, WA in the late 1950s.
Bob established a successful ophthalmology practice in Vancouver while Carolyn cared for their three children, participated in numerous civic organizations and rescued wayward pets.
Carolyn was the matriarch of a family she dearly loved.
Surviving Carolyn are her daughters, Diane Laycoe of Ridgefield and Karen Bedrossian of Woodinville; her son, Robert Bedrossian of Tualatin; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
"Dr. Bob," her husband for 62 years, died in 2010.
There was a private service held and in lieu of flowers, Carolyn's family requests that donations be made in her honor to Southwest Washington Humane Society or the charitable organization of your choice.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Carolyn while employed as a bus boy at Keil's in Hazeldell in the mid-1960's. She and Diane shopped there weekly. I often carted and off-loaded their groceries to the family car. I was indelibly touched by her ever-present, beautiful smile; warm demeanor; charm and graciousness. Although I have not seen Carolyn for 50+ years, her presence and loving attitude remain in my heart. May God lovingly embrace you Carolyn and comfort your family in His grace!

Carolyn Bedrossian will forever be in our hearts. From her amazing presence to her deep love for for her family she walked this life steady and strong, and taught us all how to be ourselves and how to stand up for what we believe in. I loved her sense of humor and I will always hold close to me the most beautiful memory of her.. that beautiful, gorgeous smile. You will be greatly missed sweet Carolyn! With all our Love.. May you rest in peace, Sherri & Family
