BURTON EUGENE KITTLESON
January 16, 1943 ~ September 17, 2014
" Burt treated everyone with kindness,
and was devoted to his family."
Our beloved husband, dad, and papa, Burton "Burt" Eugene Kittleson, 71, passed away peacefully to be with his Heavenly Father on Sept. 17, 2014. He was born on Jan. 16, 1943 to Burton and Georgene Peck. After his father's death in World War II, his mother married Norman Kittleson who raised him. Burt graduated from Hudson's Bay High School in 1960.
He met his wife of 50 years, Bev, at business school. They raised two daughters, and he was a very involved and loving dad and grandpa.
After a long career in Information Technology, including 18 years at Evans Products as a Systems Analyst and 22 years at the Port of Portland as an IT Manager, Burt retired to enjoy golf and traveling with his wife and friends. In addition, he enjoyed watching sports (from professional teams to his grandkids' teams), reading, and his small group bible studies.
As we strive to live our lives as honorably as he did,
we will be forever grateful for his constant love,
guidance, and support. He will be greatly missed.
Those of us that survive him are heartbroken but hopeful of being reunited in Heaven: wife, Bev Kittleson; brother, Norm Kittleson; daughters and spouses, Lori and Dave Dietel, Shelley and Mike Budig; grandchildren, Lindsay, Jared, Taylor, Logan, Kate, and Emma; and many friends.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Liss and her team at the Vancouver Clinic Oncology Department and staff at the Ray Hickey Hospice House for their wonderful care.
A celebration of Burt's life will be held on Fri., Sept. 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Summit View Church 7701 NE 182nd Ave., Vancouver, WA 98682, where Burt was a member.
