Betty Jane Seifert, descendant of pioneers, died at age 95 on July 3, 2017. Her grandmothers grandfather and his family came across the Oregon Trail in 1845. They settled on the Willamette River and built the fourth house in a settlement that was to become Portland. Betty lived in Vancouver, WA since 1933, went to Franklin, Shumway and graduated in 1939 from Vancouver High School.
She and her husband, William John Seifert, operated a photography studio for 20 years. Betty also worked at Fred Meyers for 14 years and retired in 1985.
She belonged to the Professional Photographers of Oregon, Bithany White Shrine, American Business Women, Clark County Humane Society, U. S. Humane Society, USCW Union #555. She loved gardening, bowling, being with family and her dogs and cats.
Betty leaves behind her sister, Shirley Schick; daughter, Susan (Michael) Angove of Fresno, CA; her three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Standiford.
The family wants to thank everyone at Discovery Nursing and Rehab Center for taking such good care of Mom while she was there.
The graveside service will be on Sat., July 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 1101 NE 112th Ave., Vancouver, WA.
