Avettia Agnes "Trudy" Holbrook, 86, of Vancouver, Washington, died Sunday, January 16, 2011, at her home with her husband and family at her side. She was born November 17, 1924 in Morgantown, West Virginia to Fred and Mary Ellen Perry. When Trudy was 10 years old she moved from West Virginia to Vancouver where she lived with two of her aunts. She graduated from Providence Academy in 1943.
Trudy went on to graduate from the school of nursing at St. Joseph Hospital in Vancouver in 1947.
Many of her working years were spent in the delivery room at St. Joseph Hospital, in addition to working at the Vancouver Clinic and SW Washington Medical Center.
She was a devout Catholic her entire life and faithfully attended St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Trudy enjoyed traveling with her husband, Dale. She particularly enjoyed trips to Hawaii, numerous cruises, winters in Desert Hot Springs and playing the slot machines in Laughlin and Reno, Nevada.
Trudy is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert "Dale"; children, Robert Jr. (Cheryl), Timothy, Dennis (Linda), Debbie (Greg) Linder, David (Barb), Nancy (Terry) Reddish, Mark (Maggi), Mary Beth (Scott) Lynn, Joseph, and Paul (Nancy); 28 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Viewing for Trudy will be Thursday, January 20, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home, 302 W. 11th St., Vancouver, WA. The funeral Mass for Trudy will be Friday, January 21, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 400 S. Andresen Rd., Vancouver, WA .

To Dale and the entire Holbrook family I would like to express my deepest sorrow at the passing of Trudy. I so remember your family and how you came into my fathers hardware store in Minnehaha when I was just a kid.
