ANNA "ALDORA" BAKSHAS HOWARD
March 23, 1917 ~ May 9, 2012
Aldora, 95, longtime resident of Vancouver, WA, passed away at home May 9, 2012 surrounded by her family.
She was an accomplished artist in leather, drawing, lapidary and silver. She raised Arabian horses for 40 years, volunteered 20 years at Barnes VA Hospital in Occupational Therapy, and had donated 3 gallons of blood.
Aldora is survived by her son, Jerome (Linda) Bakshas; two granddaughters, Shelley Walker (Bryan) and Kristen Wallway (David); and a niece and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Maj. Sam P. Bakshas, Commander B29 Pilot, KIA WW2; her second husband, Paul S. Howard; three brothers, Howard Wood, Earl Wood, Clarence Wood; and her sister, Mildred Neal.
A funeral service will be Mon., May 14, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Vancouver Funeral Chapel.
