ALVA H. KALIAN
June 11, 1925 ~ September 11, 2012
Alva H. Kalian, 87, of Brush Prairie, WA, passed away September 11, 2012 at home. He was born in Vancouver, WA and lived and worked in Clark County his entire life.
Al owned and operated a family dairy farm for more than 20 years. After leaving the dairy business in 1971, he went to work for George Schmid Construction as a truck driver until he retired in 1987.
Alva was known as the "one armed bandit" for his golfing prowess with only one arm.
Alva is survived by his wife, Jean, of 64 years; and five children, Michael (Pam) of Bellevue and James (Karla), Gregg (Gayle), Rory (Carla) and Deanna of Brush Prairie. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Tara, Katy, Courtney, Casey, Kyle (Nikki), and Kevin Kalian and Michael Kackman.
A Celebration of Life will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 23rd at The Cedars Golf Course in Brush Prairie, Washington.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to: Hospice Southwest, 100 SE 33rd St., Vancouver, WA 98663.
