William Elverett Andrews, 76, of Vancouver, WA, passed away at the Ray Hickey Hospice Center on Jan. 30, 2014. He was born Feb. 27, 1937 to LuLa (Byrd) and Samuel Andrews Sr.
William served in the Army in England from 1954-1956.
He was an educator for the Vancouver School District and a lifelong teacher known as "Mr. A." at the Juvenile Detention Center for 30 years.
"He was an Evangelist minister who ministered
to everyone and counseled the youth."
William is survived by his wife, Nancy Van Hoveln Andrews; sons, Chris and Cody Andrews; daughters, Wilitha (husband Gibril) Andrews Jarju and Jolitha Andrews; grandchildren, Elizabeth Andrews, Aisha Jarju, Kobe and Brayden Andrews; his siblings, Franklin, Marvin and Wanda Andrews and Carolyn Burnett, all of Alabama.
Visitation will be held Thurs., Feb. 6, 2014, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home. The memorial service be will be Fri., Feb. 7, 2014, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
