Rosemarie was a friend and a mentor to me. She and my father, Jack Ryan became acquainted in mainland China. Rosemarie spoke Chinese and I think she had connections witheducators in Taiwan. Rosemarie was a leader in the Montessori Community, having taught alongside Mario Montessori during her life's work. I am reading a book she gave me entitled: Montessori for the Disadvantaged ,an Application of Montessori Principles to the War on Poverty. She helped us by supporting the idea of bringing Montessori Education into our public schools in Seattle. When I see her photograph, I can still seem to hear her delightful voice,it was unique and there was usually a smile in it.

Rose taught my very first psychology class at SU and years later was the chair of my dissertation committee at the U of W. She was inspirational teacher and is largely responsible for my career choice. I admired her work with Native Americans, her skiing, and her love for life and family. She made the world a bettr place. My sincere condolences to her family and friends at her passing.

On behalf of the Munson's we are deeply saddened by the loss of Rosemarie. We know she is safely in our Lord's arms, just where she should be with Rula too. I know this has been a long struggle and knowing she is at peace brings comfort.
Take care, MaryAnne
