Richard Oren "Dick" Hoyt

June 25, 1925 ~ May 11, 2014

Dick left his birthplace, Klammath Falls, OR, to join the Army Air Corp. He served in the WWII as a B17 Gunner. After the war, he graduated from OSU and began a 30-year career with Clark County PUD. Dick continued his service in the Oregon Air National Guard where he retired as a LT. Col. He was one of the first volunteers to break ground at the Clark County fair grounds, member of the Elks club, and Toastmasters. Known for his strong constitution and character, he survived 2 cancers. Dick loved lending a hand, dancing, socializing, and traveling with lifelong friends. He was passionate about family, wintering in AZ and an avid golfer.
Dick is survived by his 3 children: Lou Ann, Brad, and Cara; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and Betty J. Hoyt.
