Ray A. Kemper

November 17, 1933 ~ October 3, 2013

Ray A. Kemper, 79 years old, passed away Thurs., Oct. 3, 2013 at home from cancer, with all of his family at his bedside. He was born on Nov. 17, 1933 in Holly, CO and moved to Vancouver, WA in 1938.
Ray enlisted in the Navy in 1953 and served in the Korean War.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening and woodworking.
Ray was married to his wife, Sharon for over 55 years. They had four children: Sonja, Deanne, Scott (Tammy), Craig (Becky), all of Vancouver. He was blessed to have five grandchildren, whom he loved to spend time with: Josh, Ashley, Alex, Caleb and Somer, all of Vancouver.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Cody; siblings: Goldie, Chet, Vernon and Howard Jr.; and parents Howard Sr. and Clara Kemper.
The family would like to give a special thank you to everyone at Hospice Southwest and to the Ray Hickey House, for all of their love and support during this difficult time and for all of their special care and love that they showed to Ray.
Memorial services will be Sat., Oct. 19, 1:00-3:30 p.m., at the Barberton Grange, 9400 NE 72nd Ave., Vancouver, WA.
