MAURICE ELTON OLIVER "MORY/MOE" BOTTEMILLER


MAURICE ELTON OLIVER BOTTEMILLER
July 30, 1930 ~ April 3, 2013

Maurice Elton Oliver Bottemiller of Ridgefield, WA, passed away at the Ray Hickey Hospice House on April 3, 2013 at 82 years old. He was born on July 30, 1930 in Ridgefield to Fred and Lydia Bottemiller. He attended Lambert Grade School before moving to Vancouver and graduated from Vancouver High School where he was a standout baseball player.
After high school, Maurice joined the Air Force and moved to Ohio where he met and married Julia Smith.
Returning to Washington, he attended WSU and graduated in Pharmacy. Returning to Ridgefield, where he raised three boys, Maurice purchased the Ridgefield Pharmacy.
Maurice was a long-time member of the Ridgefield Community United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir and helped with the books. Maurice "Mory/Moe" was also active in the Ridgefield Lions Club for 50 years. You could always depend upon seeing him at the Lions booth at the Clark County Fair. He loved growing dahlias and fuchsia baskets.
Maurice is survived by his wife, Julia Bottemiller, of almost 59 years; sons, Gary (Eileen) and Don (Janice); seven grandkids; and nine great-grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark (Sue).
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Ridgefield Community United Methodist Church on Sun., April 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. A private family burial will be at the Bethel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ridgefield Lions Club or The Ridgefield Community United Methodist Church.
